William O. Monahan
Bill is the principal of Monahan & Associates, P.C. and started the firm after practicing as an Assistant District Attorney in Suffolk County and several years in private practice at Burke, Wieners, Moran, Hurley & Merrick. Bill has over 36 years of experience representing insurers and insurance professionals. He has represented clients in state and federal courts in Rhode Island, Massachusetts as well as other states and various regulatory bodies. Bill has extensive trial experience, as well as experience representing insurers in arbitrations, appraisals and reference proceedings.
Bill is a graduate of Northeastern University and Suffolk University Law School. He is admitted to practice in state courts in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, U.S. District Courts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, the U.S. First Circuit Court and U.S. Supreme Court. Bill is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Rhode Island Bar Association, Defense Research Institute and Property & Liability Resource Bureau.
Matt is an experienced insurance defense lawyer with a concentration in the defense of property and casualty claims, coverage matters, both commercial and homeowners, and defense of insurers in extracontractual claims. Matt has been with Monahan & Associates, P.C. since the firm opened in 1996. He has extensive trial experience and has participated in many first party property insurance reference proceedings.
Matt is a graduate of The College of the Holy Cross and Boston College Law School. He is admitted to the Massachusetts state bar and the U.S. District Court of Massachusetts. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association and is a member of DRI and the National Fire Protection Association.
Edward A. Bopp
Ed focuses his practice on property and liability defense matters, with an emphasis on homeowners and commercial property coverage issues, defense of insurers from extra-contractual claims, and general liability claims. Ed defends clients from first party property claims, which include issues such as arson, fraud, environmental concerns, and business interruption claims. His practice also includes third party liability claims, subrogation, and general coverage issues.
Ed is admitted to practice in the state courts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, the U.S. District Courts in Massachusetts and Rhode Island and the U.S. First Circuit Court. Ed is a member of the Boston Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, Rhode Island Bar Association, and Lawyer Pilots Bar Association.
Ed graduated from the College of New Jersey with a B.S. in Criminology and Justice Studies and graduated cum laude from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, where he was a Staff Editor on the SMU Science and Technology Law Review.
